How can you poke fun at your brand?

Self-deprecating brand humor is so interesting to me. I love when someone gets it right as Blockbuster did here:

Typically, it does well on social media because it's likely something consumers or users already think (or would think) about your product or service.

Looking at your brand with a critical eye is one of the most challenging exercises but one of the most necessary.

Social media pros are the cheerleaders of brand and image in a very public way, but social audiences crave realness that's hard to manufacture.

Once you find that balance (the balance of how you see your brand and how the audience sees your brand), you've found a very special social content pillar.
